“I think dogs are the most amazing creatures. They give unconditional love. For me they are the role model for being alive.” – Gilda Radner
Starting a new story demands hours and hours of mulling, pacing, muttering, stopping and starting. My wonderful Writer Elkhound keeps pace with me, listens with interest to my various howls and low growls. And when I slump dejectedly, she refuses to accept that attitude and runs up with a tennis ball, or gives chase to the combat squirrel that is darting across the fence top.
We are distracted by the flight of a bird. Then it’s back to work. And the Writer Elkhound settles beneath the keyboard.
“The average dog is a nicer person than the average person.” – Andy Rooney

The game is “apaw”!
It’s nice to have a not-so-secret sharer of one’s stopping and starting. Mine is a special gifts son named Luke. Keep starting–as you do marvelously in these meditations.
Thanks! Or as the Writer Elkhound would say, takk takk.
